The former vedette faces a three-year prison sentence accused of an alleged crime of misappropriation of assets and it was expected that this Monday, June 19, she would sit in the dock in the Provincial Court of Madrid with her children, Sofia and Angel Cristo Jr.to which the Prosecutor’s Office charges the same crime as the vedette.
Finally the trial has been suspended due to the unknown whereabouts of one of the defendants but both Barbara Rey as his daughter Sofía have wanted to face the doors and offer their version to the press: “This has come to light because there has always been a black hand.” Mother and daughter have denied all the information that has been published in recent days: “We are fine, very calm, you will find out the reality when we make a statement.” They have also ensured that everything is in the hands of their lawyers, so there are “certain things that cannot be said.”
They have assured that “we owe nothing to the Treasury” and Bárbara Rey has explained why there could be a misunderstanding on the matter: “Like all the actors many years ago, we have had problems with the Treasury because we invoice through companies, as they have All done, and then later to a natural person, because they changed it. That’s where the issue came from but it was settled, we went to court and I paid everything. We don’t know why this is happening.”
The actress assures that she knows what could have happened: “It is something that we do not understand and that almost always happens when there are elections or when the Treasury is going to be paid.” For her part, her daughter corroborates this version: “Or to cover up shit and put veils like this.” And they have added: “It is a great coincidence that the documentary comes out, the series comes out and now this happens. But come on, this issue has been going on for years and we have been up to date with the Treasury for a long time. And it does not occur to anyone not to be up to date day with Treasury”.
