MADRID, 13 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The karate fighter Babacar Seck has become the new number one in the world in the +84 kilo kumite category thanks to his great season on the world circuit, as reported this Tuesday by the Royal Spanish Karate Federation (RFEK).

The Aragonese, 25 years old, has had a great Karate 1 Premier League where he has won a gold, in the Portuguese town of Matosinhos, three silvers, in Rabat, Fukuoka (Japan) and Cairo, and two bronzes, in Fujairah (Emirates United Arab Emirates) and Dublin, in addition to winning gold at the 2022 World Games and bronze at the European Championships in Guadalajara last March.

According to the RFEK, since he does not have a scholarship due to the disappearance of karate from the Olympic program, this success of Babacar Seck is “very meritorious” and allows him to claim “those institutional or private aid to be able to dedicate himself to training and continue growing as a professional athlete in his sports career”.
