AZ Alkmaar and Hajduk Split will play the Youth League final

MADRID, 21 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

AZ Alkmaar and Hajduk Split will play the UEFA Youth League final on April 24 (6:00 p.m.), thanks to their respective victories this Friday over Sporting de Portugal (2-2, 3-4 on penalties) and against AC Milan (3-1).

At the Stade de Genève (Switzerland), the finalists will compete to be the seventh different champion in nine seasons. Neither AZ nor Hajduk had reached the final before, and never before had a team from the Netherlands or Croatia reached this final run for the title.

Along the way, the three Spanish teams have stayed this season. AZ itself eliminated FC Barcelona in the round of 16 (0-3) and Real Madrid in the quarterfinals (4-0), and Atlético de Madrid also fell to Milan (2-0) in the quarterfinals.

The club that is crowned champion in Geneva will join a list of winners that already includes Barça (2013/14 and 2017/18), Chelsea (2014/15 and 2015/16), Salzburg (2016/17), Porto (2018/19 ), Real Madrid (2019/20) and Benfica (2021/22).
