MADRID, 1 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Atlético de Madrid will play against Real Sociedad in the early hours of this Wednesday to Thursday (03:00) to start the LaLiga Summer Tour in Monterrey (Mexico), a series of friendlies between the LaLiga EA Sports teams, in what will also be the third pre-season commitment for the colchoneros and the fourth for the ‘txuri-urdin’ team.
The BBVA Stadium in Monterrey will host this duel, with both teams playing well. On the part of Atlético, the victory (1-2) last Sunday against Manchester City resolved the doubts generated three days earlier by their defeat (2-3) against Team K-League, a team of South Korean soccer stars.
The Dutch Memphis Depay and the Belgian Yannick Carrasco, midway through the second part of that match, scored the goals of the rojiblanco victory against the current European champions. Diego Pablo Simeone’s changes did take effect on that occasion, with a greater deployment of his bench than in the previous appointment by Seoul.
In this way, the mattress team ended their stay in the South Korean capital with a lost appointment and another win, but still without solving their offensive section. The Portuguese João Félix, a headache for the club, remained on the bench against Team K-League and was not even called up to face Manchester City.
If Atlético’s intention is to get rid of João Félix, since he himself has already expressed his desire to leave, it does not seem ideal for the Portuguese to run out of minutes this preseason. On the other hand, and until further notice, the striker Álvaro Morata is also entering the plans of coach Diego Pablo Simeone.
A starter in both Atlético matches in South Korea, the striker from Madrid fights to get ahead of the aforementioned Memphis Depay. And it is that in the offensive line, the Frenchman Antoine Griezmann and the Argentinean Ángel Correa are untouchable for the ‘Cholo’ Simeone. In addition, the Brazilian Samuel Lino has returned with panache from his loan to Valencia CF.
For their part, Real Sociedad began the summer by losing 3-1 to Osasuna and then losing 3-0 to Sporting Lisbon. In their preparation, Imanol Alguacil’s pupils have their sights set on their contest in the next Champions League, so it came in handy for them to get back on track by winning Bayer Leverkusen 1-0.
Regarding the transfer market, the San Sebastian team has still moved little and to top it off it has lost some key pieces. Canarian midfielder David Silva announced his retirement from professional football due to a serious injury to his left knee, and Norwegian striker Alexander Sörloth went to Villarreal CF.
