Astou Ndour becomes the third Spanish WNBA champion

MADRID, 18 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Center Astou Ndour has become the third Spanish player to be proclaimed WNBA champion after the triumph of her team, Chicago Sky, in the US League finals against Phoenix Mercury (3-1)

After Amaya Valdemoro, who won three rings in a row with the Houston Comets (1998-2000), and Anna Cruz, champion in 2015 with Minnesota Lynx, Ndour joins his compatriots with the Chicago Sky jersey, a franchise that has also released its honors.

With a 2-1 advantage in the final to the best of five games, Chicago had everything in favor to sentence the series in front of their fans and they did it after a great comeback in the fourth quarter (80-74). In this last game of the season, Ndour played almost five minutes in which he missed his two shots to the basket.
