An almost perfect week for Atlético: goals, triumphs, co-leader …

The bump last weekend before the Alavés filled Atlético with doubts, which above faced a key week for the League and the Champions League. Milan and Barça they would mark the present and the future in both competitions and, now that the double appointment has passed, Simeone's team is very reinforced. A comeback to the limit pulling epic and a very comfortable victory, with a few players recovering sensations in both games, they illuminate the panorama of the rojiblancos, which was dark gray nine days ago and now allows them to be optimistic, because the coaching staff is convinced that the team will improve.

Athletic Shield / Flag

The Athletic one goes to the stop very much alive in the Champions League (4 points out of 6) and in the top wagon of the League. The latter has also helped that Madrid has lost five points in the last two days (Villarreal and Espanyol). The two great favorites for the title are at the same height in the standings, with 17 points and Barça already at five and very bad feelings. Real also played in Getafe, so the rojiblancos are co-leaders.

Those of Atleti were not much better before this week and the dressing room is still aware that there is a lot to improve, but yes there are green shoots in the game accompanying the results. The first half hour of San Siro was bad, but the final stretch of the rojiblancos (against ten, yes) showed that they have a team with a lot of quality and many possibilities. For example, finishing with a forward formed by Correa, Griezmann, João Félix and Luis Suárez.

Selections and another big week

In that final arreón, Griezmann gave positive signals (and a goal), João Felix entered the field to add, From Paul it is trading higher, Lemar is essential … And against Barça there was a very good choral performance, with Lemar and João Félix in a stellar plan and without spending any trouble in defense. What's more, Luis Suárez saw the door in both games, and the thorn of not having scored with Atleti in the Champions League (and six years without doing it at home) and of his long-awaited revenge with Barça is removed.

Now it's time for a long break in the national teams and, on the way back, another big week. As the Granada party is suspended, the next rivals will be, both in the Metropolitan, Liverpool (Tuesday 19) and Real Sociedad (Sunday 24).
