Almería pursues its first victory against Sevilla

MADRID, 10 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Almería, bottom of LaLiga EA Sports, will seek this Monday at the Power Horse Stadium (9:00 p.m.), in the last match of the twenty-eighth matchday, to open their record of victories against Sevilla, who in recent weeks has reacted and wants continue moving away from the relegation zone.

Gaizka Garitano’s men still don’t know what it means to win this season in league competition, in which they have nine points from as many draws. Despite their good image in high-profile matches like the one at the Bernabéu, they have not quite achieved that victory that could fill them with confidence to react.

The safety spots are already far away, 15 points away, and time is running out. Furthermore, after three consecutive and exciting draws against Athletic Club (0-0), Granada (1-1) and Atlético de Madrid (2-2), last week they returned to the path of defeat against RC Celta (1- 0).

Sevilla, since it has LaLiga as its only front, has been able to respond and has only lost one of its last six games, away against Real Madrid (1-0); three wins, the last of them the previous day against Real Sociedad (3-2), and two draws confirm the reassuring Nervionense streak.

Thus, Quique Sánchez Flores’ men are fourteenth in the table with 27 points, five above the danger zone and very far from the places that give access to Europe, at 16.

The Almeria team will not be able to count on the suspended Bruno Langa, who saw a straight red card in the match against the Galicians, nor on the injured Luis Suárez and Ibrahima Kone, but they will recover Leo Baptistao, who has overcome an ankle injury.

The Seville squad, meanwhile, is emptying the infirmary with the recovery of Jesus Navas, Erik Lamela, Marcos Acuña, Dodi Lukebakio and Marcao, and Joan Jordan, Mariano Diaz, Juanlu Sanchez and Lucien Agoumé.
