MADRID, 11 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish international Alicia Fernández suffers a bucket handle tear in the internal meniscus of her left knee and will miss the remainder of the European Championship, the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM) confirmed this Friday.

“Alicia Fernández misses the remainder of the European due to a bucket handle tear in the internal meniscus of her left knee. A lot of strength, Ali! Hopefully the ‘Guerreras’ can give you a new victory today!” federation in a statement.

On Thursday, central defender Silvia Arderius received a call from coach José Ignacio Prades to join Spain after Alicia Fernández’s injury to her left knee prevented her from finishing the match against Germany.

Arderius will arrive at the European Championship at its peak, the start of a main phase in which Spain will play the pass to the crosses that give access to the medals. The ‘Guerreras’ will face Romania this Friday in Skopje (North Macedonia).

The Madrilenian has played 72 international games in which she has scored 71 goals and participated in the qualifying phase for this European and in the World Cup a year ago in Spain.
