The Alcorcón, with goals from Xisco Jimenez and the Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali, achieved this Monday an important victory that keeps him with options of permanence against a direct rival such as Castellon, which, although it is still out of the descent, remains only one point above the potter set.
All or nothing. This is how Alcorcón faced the game, with water up to their neck after chaining five games without winning and sunk in the penultimate place in the classification.
With a daring tactical approach and with a defensive line of three players, the potter team came out with greater drive than their rival and after three minutes he opened the scoring with a good play on the left wing of Dani Ojeda, who put a ball to the heart of the area that Marc Gual gave to Xisco Jimenez so that he would finish only on goal.
Midway through the first half, Castellón tied. He did so after a corner badly defended by Alcorcón, the main drag on the potter team this season. Xisco Jiménez did not manage to clear a ball well, he combed it badly back and Adrián Lapeña, who won the mark from Ojeda, finished off a goal at the far post.
With equality on the scoreboard, the one who most sought the second goal was the Alcorcón and before the break he had several chances to score, the clearest with a cross shot from Xisco that cleared one hand Whalley.
In the second part the intensity dropped and the game fell asleep with the passing of the minutes due to the tranquility that Castellón showed, which, with the lines very close together, despaired of the potter team.
Alcorcón scored the second from a set piece through the Nigerian midfielder Kelechi Nwakali, who launched a good free kick from outside the area that overcame the barrier and lodged on the right side of Whalley's goal.
In the added time, the Alcorcón returned to uncover his defensive deficiencies with a distant foul of the Castellon that Iago Indias, only in the small area, finished with his head over the crossbar.
With the victory, Alcorcón adds 35 points and, although it remains in decline, sees only one point the salvation that Castellón now marks with 36.
