Alberto Ginés, third at the start of the Budapest Olympic qualification series

MADRID, 21 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish Aberto Ginés started in third position this Thursday in the Budapest Olympic qualification series, where the last places for the Paris 2024 Games are distributed.

The participation of the Cáceres began with a qualifying round in which the first two blocks ended without being resolved by the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion, and then added two tops in a row in the third and fourth blocks.

A competition finale where the Spaniard released the tension when he hung from the top of the fourth block, seeing himself close to the semifinals. Despite the bad start, the Olympic champion closed the Block classification in third position with 64.5 points, only surpassed by Hannes van Duysen (70.0) and Adam Ondra (69.9).

Behind were other favorites such as the Frenchman Mejdi Schalck (fourth with 59.8 points), runner-up in the world of the specialty, or the South Korean Lee Do-hyun, world bronze (sixth with 59.6). This Friday the Difficulty qualifying round will be played.
