MADRID, 4 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Contador Foundation will carry out on September 13 in Ribadesella (Asturias), on the day that the seventeenth stage of La Vuelta 2023 leaves the town, an action of the ‘Bikes for Life’ project that will consist of collecting bicycles in disuse to give them a new life.

The van of the ‘Bicis para la Vida’ project will be present in the starting area of the stage, with the collaboration of Skoda, from 9 in the morning and until shortly after the start of the stage, which will culminate in L’Angliru, to pick up those bikes.

Alberto Contador himself, who will be following the race for Eurosport, will be present in Ribadesella to encourage people to collaborate with this initiative of his foundation.

“‘Bicis para la Vida’ is one of the most gratifying projects that we develop. Thanks to the support we have received from the fans, with their generous donations, this initiative has been able to grow a lot. The commitment of the Seur Foundation and Skoda, in addition , has made it easier for it to have greater logistical capacity and it is easier to increase the geographical scope of action and the periodicity of deliveries,” said Contador.

An action that will be reminiscent of the one carried out in 2012, when the Contador Foundation collected its first bikes during La Vuelta. Since then, the foundation has collected more than a thousand bikes in Spain, Morocco and Uganda.
