Alba Vázquez and Emma Carrasco, brands of consideration for the Fukuoka World Cup

Alba Vázquez (CN Churriana) and the junior Emma Carrasco (CN Sant Andreu) stood out this Thursday with ‘consideration marks’ in the second day of the Spanish Championship that is being held in the municipal swimming pools of Son Hugo, in Palma de Mallorca.

Vázquez won the final of the 400 IM (4.41.16) and Carrasco did 4.42.96, the international mark for his category and record for the Junior Championship. Both are ‘marks of consideration’ by the RFEN Technical Directorate for the Fukuoka World Championship, according to the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation.

In the men’s 400 IM, the great duel between Álex Castejón (CN Sabadell) and Marcos Martín Burguillo (Real Canoe NC) resolved in favor of the former with 4.20.17 against the 4.22.07 of the man from Madrid. The afternoon finals began with the women’s 100 meter breaststroke, with the gold for Jessica Vall (CN Sant Andreu) competing with Marina García (CN Sabadell), with 1.08.31 against the 1.08.42 of her usual rival.

In the men’s event, and in the absence of Carles Coll (CN Sabadell) -who has reserved himself- Álvaro Gómez (CN Madrid Moscardó) from Madrid won with 1.02.90, beating Jaime Morote (Real Canoe NC) by only 5 hundredths and to the junior Jorge García (CN Churriana) with 1.03.21.

Among the Spanish women, the fastest in the 200 freestyle was Ainhoa ​​Campabadal with 1.59.52. In the men’s final, two Spanish champions ex aequo (23.72) and both from CN Terrassa, Mario Mollá and Alberto Lozano. The day in Palma ended with the 4×100 freestyle relay, with gold for Gredos and Real Canoe NC in the female and male categories.
