Deportivo Alavés will play a preseason friendly against Elche CF at the La Manga Club facilities, next July 31 from 7:00 p.m. Albiazules and Alicante will face each other in the preparation of the 2021-22 campaign. The last match played between both teams dates back to May 11 with a 0-2 victory. at the Martínez Valero stadium in Elche. The people of Alicante have announced this morning four more friendlies against Atromitos, Zaragoza, Tenerife and Cartagena.
This announcement reinforces the possibility advanced by Diario AS that Alavés prepare a concentration in Mediterranean territory. Considering that Javi Calleja, the new coach, has trained for several years at Villarreal and that he is in those lands on vacation, the Albiazul team could leave Vitoria for a week to prepare for the season.
The intention of the Basque club is to play a friendly further away from the slobbery capital and have three more matches at home, either in the capital or in a town in the province such as Laguardia, Alegría or Salvatierra, which usually host meetings of this nature in preseason.
