The pre-candidate for the presidency of FC Barcelona Agustí Benedito explained this Wednesday that in “these elections the club model is at stake” in the presentation of his electoral program at the H10 Casa Mimosa in Barcelona. “Barça members will have to choose which club model we want. We face very different models and depending on the candidacy that wins, they will bet on one model or another,” added the candidate in this regard. His project, according to Benedito, defends “a transversal club model, with social and democratic values and roots in Catalonia, which defends the sovereignty of its members.”
Instead, he considers that “other candidates have other priorities.” For Benedito “The model of shared ownership among the Barça people makes Barça a unique and popular club, and the more they bet on it, the more competitive power it will have compared to other clubs with fierce models.” With the aim of ensuring that its club model is as proposed, Benedito announced the creation of a Department of Responsibility and Sustainability and a Department of Quality Assurance. On the other hand, he also reported that if he becomes the president of Barça on January 24, it will mean that “everyone who intends to be a member can be so immediately as long as they go to register in person at the club's offices.”
