After getting upset at LSU, Shaq or Candace Parker show respect by going to the Colorado locker room.

Monday night at T-Mobile Arena to Las Vegas, No. 20 Colorado beat No. 1 LSU, the current national champion, 92–78. This was a shocking start to the women’s college basketball season.

LSU’s run to the title game with star ahead Angel Reese brought more attention to the team, and the stars played in their first Naismith Basketball Hall for Fame Series game.

Famous LSU grad Shaquille O’Neal and present WNBA star Candace Parker were among them. Parker was an analyst for the TNT show.

Even though O’Neal has a lot of ties to LSU, he has always shown respect for other teams. Parker is one of the most famous women in college basketball history because she played at Tennessee.

The Buffaloes must have had a great time when two of the biggest names in sports came to visit. LSU had the bigger draw, but Colorado also has a strong team. They are 25-9 this season.

It’s amazing that the Buffaloes only let LSU stars Reese or Hailey Van Lith make 10 out of 26 shots from the field.

The number one ranked and defending NCAA Tournament winner LSU Tigers were beaten by head coach JR Payne as well as the Colorado Buffaloes women’s basketball team on Monday night, 92–78. This was the first game of the 2023–24 season.

Together, Frida Formann as well as Aaronette Vonleh scored 51 points to help the Buffs pull off the big surprise win over the Tigers.

Jaylyn Sherrod, the point guard, had a great game too. She had 19 points, 8 boards, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

After their huge win over LSU, a Buffs were astonished to see a couple of important people in their locker room.

NBA star and former LSU Tiger Shaquille O’Neal and WNBA legend Candace Parker both went to see the team to congratulate them on their great win.

Parker was in town as she is on the 2023 WNBA winner Las Vegas Aces. During her time watching the NBA on TNT, Parker worked with Shaq many times.

Parker and Shaq were very classy after the game when they went to the Colorado locker room to congratulate them on their win.

Shaq pointed during Buffs big Aaronette Vonleh as soon as he walked into the locker room. Vonleh scored 24 points against Angel Reese as well as the Tigers.

Then Shaq waved Vonleh over so he could get her up to tell her what an outstanding job she as well as her team did on Monday night.

The video made it look like the women were so shocked when Shaq showed up that they didn’t notice he had Parker with him until she spoke up to congratulate him.

Parker called attention to Jaylyn Sherrod, who led the Buffs with 19 points, 8 boards, 6 assists, along with 3 steals. With a total of 27 points on 9-14 shooting and seven three-pointers, Frida Formann had the most points of any player.

Payne said, “That’s one thing we love about our baseball team: we have great balance.” “We can play inside or outside.”

I think that we have some players that are really hard to guard one-on-one. For example, when you put shooters near somebody like Aaronette, it’s hard because she’s so powerful, and it was great to witness her play today.

Reese was the best player in the Final Four last year, when she helped lead LSU to the national title. She still had a good game, with 15 points and 12 boards, but she wasn’t as dominant as she was in March.

Last season, Reese scored 23.0 points along with 15.4 rebounds per game. But against the Buffs, Vonleh and others outmuscled her and the other Tigers, and she only made 6 of 15 shots.

Payne said, “I think, for our most part, we constitute a pretty physical team.” “We’re always the loser.”

Our team is tough because we don’t have any five-star kids or McDonald’s All-Americans. We’re built on game plans, performance, and other things like that.

That being said, it wasn’t necessarily Angel Reese; we were simply wishing to play our brand of basketball.
