MADRID, 28 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The former athlete Abel Antón, two-time marathon world champion, and the cycling coach Silvia González will receive this Thursday (12:00 p.m.) the Mondraker brand mountain bikes with which they will compete with the solidarity team ‘Aural Centros Auditivos’ next edition of the Titan Desert in Morocco, from April 28 to May 3.

The event, which will be held at the headquarters of the company from Elche in the Elche Parque Empresarial industrial estate, will be attended by the Sports Councilor of the Elche City Council, José Navarro; the CEO of Mondraker, Miguel Pina; and Abel Antón and Silvia González themselves, an amateur cyclist who suffers from cancer and who intends to complete this year’s Titan Desert.

Silvia González, founder of ‘Cycling for all’, was diagnosed with cancer and a couple of months ago underwent surgery with a spinal cord transplant. Far from being discouraged, González set herself the challenge of completing ‘the mountain bike dakar’ to try to be a source of inspiration for women who suffer from the disease.

“You get more tired, but in general I have not felt sick. I have made a change in this visibility and also now I feel that I am an example for certain people. I believe that we have to live day to day and it has all happened to us with the pandemic,” commented the cyclist at the presentation of the project at the end of January at the Higher Sports Council (CSD).

Silvia González has been joined in the challenge by marathon runner Abel Antón, and a group of amateur cyclists, journalists and the general director of Aural Centros Auditivos, Juan Ignacio Martínez, a company that has been running the Aural Team initiative since 2005 to inspire women. people, with the athlete from Soria as ambassador.
