The international madridista of the week arrives from Turkey. There he studied Mechatronics Engineering Abdulaziz Mustafá, a 25-year-old white fan who was born in the city of Idlib (Syria) and who is a member of the Los Blancos Syrian Madridista supporters club, one of the three that Madrid has in that Middle Eastern country.
Abdulaziz defines himself as a “madridista at heart” since 2005. His admiration for the legends of the white club’s history is shared. In his particular podium of Real Madrid players he places Raúl González and Ronaldo Nazario, but above them rises Zinedine Zidane. “He’s my favorite player of all time”, proclaims our madridista of the week. However, having to opt not for a player from Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, he has no doubts. His current idol is Luka Modric.
The conquest of the Super Cup will have made Abdulaziz enjoy himself. Nevertheless, One of the matches that he keeps in his memory with the greatest affection is the second leg of the 2008 Super Cup against Valencia, in which the team then coached by Bernd Schuster was proclaimed champion after overcoming (4-2) the result of the first leg (3-2). The other match that marked him also marked many madridistas: the final of the Décima against Atlético in Lisbon remembered for Sergio Ramos’ historic header in the 93rd minute.
Abdulaziz says goodbye to AS readers with the desire to continue seeing Real Madrid winning titles and with the hope of one day seeing his dream come true: visiting the Santiago Bernabéu to see Real Madrid and touring the club’s museum. The new Bernabéu awaits you.
