A key protected witness in the investigation into the death of the fan of the Deportivo de La Coruña Francisco Javier ‘Jimmy’ during a brawl in November 2014 between fans of the Riazor Blues and the Athletic Front It has been ratified in the identification made at the police headquarters of the alleged perpetrator of death, as reported to Europa Press legal sources.
The case was closed in June 2018 in the absence of a known perpetrator, but months later the Madrid Provincial Court ordered its reopening due to an appeal by the private prosecution against the dismissal of the case for not being able to recognize the perpetrators of the death of the ultra Galician.
The Hearing took into account the statement of a protected witness who in his day identified three people as material authors, something that had been ignored by the judge. In a complaint for mistreatment of a member of the Athletic Front, presented by a witness who is no longer living in Spain, the names of these three same people came out, with one above the rest, which led the Police to refer that information to the Hearing. The defense of the family of the deceased appealed, like LaLiga, which is in the criminal case.
