A 31-year-old fan, allegedly a member of the ultra group Brigade Loire, has been stabbed to death during clashes prior to the French Ligue 1 match between Nantes and Nice.

On Saturday night, buses carrying Nice fans were attacked by Nantes fans, the Nantes prosecutor's office announced this Sunday.

The Nantes fan collapsed and died despite the quick intervention of the emergency services. “The first forensic examinations show that the victim has a wound on his back that could correspond to a knife,” said the Nantes prosecutor, according to BFMTV.
