David Rocher, French linesman, has been sentenced to 18 months by the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU), after having violated the betting rules established in the Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP)
Rocher was charged with placing eleven tennis bets between January and October 2019 and also faced another charge of failing to cooperate with the TIU investigation. The linesman admitted the first accusation and challenged the second, the organization says in a statement.
The case was resolved by Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer Ian Mill QC, who found that David Rocher did not cooperate “fully with the investigation and therefore would be sentenced to six months for the gambling offenses, and 18 months (with four suspension) for not cooperating fully. “
The prohibitions will apply simultaneously, which means that from the date of the ruling (December 6, 2020) to February 6, 2022, Rocher is prohibited from officiating or attending any tennis event authorized or sanctioned by tennis governing bodies. In addition, he has been fined $ 5,000.
