Almirón: “The team is not dead”

The Argentine coach of Elche, Jorge Almirón, he assured after losing this Saturday in the field of Valencia that despite not having been able to win in the last fourteen games “the team is not dead.”

“The players are angry to lose but there are many games to go. I do not intend to abandon and less now. It is time to add, “he said at a press conference, in which he said that he understood the doubts about its continuity.

“With the number of games that we could not win it is normal but there are many teams in our situation and it depends a lot on the state of mind ”, he pointed out.

The Argentine coach was sure that they can be saved with the current team. “It's the squad we have, all the teams are difficult, Valencia have a great squad and he beat us by the minimum. We were close to the draw too ”, he pointed out.

The coach said they played “a good game in general” and regretted not having defined better or not having avoided “goal situations because his goal was avoidable”.

But Almirón also pointed out that “in the first play they took us a yellow and that conditions, they took us a lot of cards and there was not the same measure for the two teams ”.

“It was an even match, very fought, they took the advantage in the first half and held it. With the changes, in the second we stepped on his field more than in the first ”, he concluded.
