Mesut Özil does not count for Mikel Arteta. Arsenal tried to 'place' the German midfielder this summer, however they did not find him a new destination and, except for surprise, the former Madrid player will remain in the 'gunner' team, at least until the winter market.
Özil, the footballer who earns the most of the London squad, is in his last year of contract and according to The Athletic he has received a loyalty bonus of 9 million euros.
The Teuton renewed in 2018 and secured the collection of said amount if he stayed the 20/21 season, a payment that Arsenal has not been able to avoid despite the fact that it does not fit into Arteta's schemes.
Arsenal will try to find a new team for Özil between now and Friday the 16th, at which time the window on the domestic market in England will close.
The ‘gunners’ are trying to get some English club to sign the German international, but for now they have had to pay 9 ‘kilos’ for Özil's loyalty.
