Sandoval: “For us it is a historic party”

José Ramón Sandoval, Fuenlabrada coach, fled all the controversy that has surrounded Riazor's game against Deportivo de la Coruña and looked forward to football when pointing out as a “historic game” for his club a duel that can allow him to play the phase of promotion to First.

“It is the game of our history. If we get a point we get into the playoffs. These are difficult conditions, since we came from twelve days confined in a room, but before we had a positive dynamic and we were the best team after the confinement”, assured at a press conference.

“We arrived in these conditions but for us it is a historic game and with the available people that we are going to have we are going to give up our lives, since we have the option of making history for Fuenlabrada and fighting for promotion,” he added.

On top of the problems he suffers in several demarcations where the coronavirus will prevent him from having the headlines, Sandoval placed the importance of being able to play the game and did not look for excuses.

“At the moment we are training with 21 players counting those of the subsidiary. They are the ones who are there but we are not going to make excuses. We deserved to play this game postponed. Balancing the same games played by everyone in the competition is fair. The players are going to multiply on the field, by those who stay in Madrid and by the player who is still in A Coruña at the hotel. This is only a soccer game and there are people who are taking it from themselves, “he said.

For his part, he assured that he will greet the coach of Dépor, Fernando Vázquez, and will accept “for better or for worse” the result of the match. “The sooner this game is played and the sooner it is over it will be better for everyone. Once we play the game, depending on the result, we will go out with our heads held high.”

Finally, the Fuenlabrada coach was surprised with the behavior of Deportivo de la Coruña. “I do not understand the anger of a club that what they are going to demand is to play a game. All the teams continue to train except Deportivo and we who were confined. The deadlines were set so that if something like this happened, the affected team could be available. If it had happened in the middle of the championship the same thing would have happened, I don't understand why they complain about playing this game “. EFE
