Leonor and Sofia They surprised their parents this Wednesday morning during lunch to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Reign of Felipe VI with some heartfelt words that have deeply moved the monarch and his wife. A few hours later, the parents wanted to return the wink by appearing by surprise at an event planned only for the two sisters, who were left speechless when they saw them.
It was in the Gallery of the Royal Collections, where the Princess of Asturias and the Infanta met with a group of forty young people, between 17 and 21 years old, winners of the 32nd to 39th editions of the contest ‘What ‘Is a King for you?’, organized by the Spanish Institutional Foundation (FIES). While the entire group was contemplating a painting of Charles III of England, the favorite of Philip VI (who has precisely another image of this monarch in his office in the Zarzuela Palace), the kings appeared by surprise to accompany them during the rest of the tour.
For this occasion, the kings have changed their morning looks (as have their daughters) and have opted for more comfortable and informal outfits. Don Felipe, in fact, did not even wear a tie. Doña Letizia, for her part, wore a beautiful gold pleated skirt with a black halter-neck top and matching clutch. In addition, she has changed her heels for comfortable flat sandals, as she has not yet recovered from the fracture in her right toe that even forced her to rest on a chair during the greeting from the royal balcony a few hours before.
The queen, tired from the hard day and sore from the injury, has made a titanic effort to accompany her daughters and give them this beautiful surprise that did not stop here, because after finishing the visit in the gallery, the four of them went to the Plaza de Oriente to enjoy the video mapping that has been projected on the façade of the palace, lasting four minutes and with the tenth anniversary of the reign as the common thread.
