MADRID, 24 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish MotoGP rider Joan Mir (Repsol Honda) left a positive assessment this Sunday after the Portuguese Grand Prix, where he once again came back as he did on Saturday in the Sprint, to finish twelfth, although he confessed that they will have to improve the position in grill to “avoid incidents”.
“I am happy with our performance today, although if you look at the final results it may not seem like it. On the first lap we had a strong contact with Morbidelli – the right side of my suit was almost completely black -, I went long and the motorcycle has suffered a lot of damage,” he said in statements provided by his team.
Mir was happy with his comeback in the race, nine positions to finish twelfth, just as he made another comeback in the Sprint. “It was quite difficult to manage with all the damage, but even then we were able to match the pace of the drivers who were fighting for the Top 10,” he said.
“The key point we have to work on is improving our classification to avoid these types of incidents. Everyone in the team and at HRC has done a great job to improve from where we were on Friday, so I want to thank them,” term.
