The sports equipment brand Joma has presented the official shoes of the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon for the 2024 edition, a renewal of the design embodied in the high-end R.2000 model that suggests to 'take off' through the streets of the capital of Spain next April 7th.
This evolution aims to reach all types of runners. To do this, it offers comfort and recovery in a model that was awarded the Runnea award for the revelation shoe of the past 2023.
Versatility, breathability, cushioning and reactivity are some of the strong points of the official shoes of the Madrid Half Marathon, together with the elegant white upper, which gives a more casual touch to the sneakers.
The test will start from Paseo de la Castellana and will continue along a 21,097 kilometer route that runs through emblematic areas of Madrid such as the Bernabéu, Puerta de Alcalá, Atocha, Paseo del Prado, Neptuno and Cibeles.
The design of the R.2000 Movistar Madrid Half Marathon incorporates the white upper as a novelty. This color, so common in casual fashion, provides a sophisticated touch to sports shoes. Above the mesh, a 'Madrid' print has been added with typography inspired by urban art and the multicultural character of the city.
For all the details, including the sole, the characteristic blue of the marathon has been rescued in different shades. Likewise, on the inside they have small drawings that represent the most emblematic places in the city as a nod to the route.
Regarding technical characteristics, the R.2000 shoes are prepared to withstand the pace required by competition over long and medium distances. The upper is made of breathable and light mesh, with VTS perforations that promote sweat ventilation. The Joma Sportech heat-sealed fit system ensures foot support.
On the other hand, the reactive midsole with a 10 mm drop has been built with Fly Reactive rear technology, a light and flexible material that offers excellent momentum. At the front, it has higher density phylon to absorb impacts. Finally, the sole is made of Durability rubber with very good resistance to abrasion on asphalt.
