MADRID, 14 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish cyclist Sebastián Mora won the silver medal this Sunday in the scoring event of the European Track Championships being held in Apeldoorn (Netherlands), the first medal for Spain on the last day of the event.

“It was the last day, we had to fight for this medal for everyone. It has to be a very nice beginning year and that's how we fought for it. I knew I had to come out strong. I started on my own, I was able to gain points and a lap,” he claimed.

“I took a gamble, I had to die, I haven't looked back and that's why I used up my strength, in the end I lacked it a little, but I fought and I'm very happy,” he said in statements to the media of the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation. (RFEC), collected by Europa Press.

Mora, who won his eighth continental medal on the track, was second with 58 points behind the Dane Niklas Larsen (66), while the Frenchman Óscar Nilsson-Julien was bronze (45).
