Sevilla FC will present an “urgent appeal” against the French Government's decision to prohibit Sevilla fans from entering the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium of Lens, rival of the Spanish team this Tuesday on the last day of the group stage of the Champions League 2023-2024, according to a club statement issued this Monday.
“Sevilla FC will present an urgent appeal, together with the French Association Nationale des Supporters, against the administrative resolution to prohibit access to any person who comes as a Sevilla FC fan to several areas of several cities, including Lens and Arras, and against of the French Ministry of the Interior last night to prohibit flights,” the entity announced on its website.
The Nervionense team hopes to have a resolution “as soon as possible”, although “it does not rule out that it could even be at dawn.” “Sevilla is aware of the difficulty of changing the criteria of the French administration, but will put all its legal and diplomatic efforts to try to ensure that our fans can be at the match against Lens,” the club's statement concluded.
This Monday, the French Government prohibited Sevilla FC fans from entering the Bollaert-Delelis Stadium of Lens, as well as from approaching the surrounding area, on the occasion of the match between Gauls and Seville, through a prefectoral decree.
