NFL fans slammed Falcons’ Desmond Ridder for missing a very easy touchdown pass against the Buccaneers.
A lot of people have been watching Falcons player Desmond Ridder this season because of how he has played on the field.
People in the NFL were angry at the second-year quarterback on social media after the missed pass.
Ridder started his third straight game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers since being taken out of the game.
On Sunday, when he missed a wide-open touchdown pass to running back Bijan Robison, it was a great example of why he has been criticized on the field.
Robinson ran easily into the right flat on third-and-goal at the Buccaneers’ 3-yard line, but Ridder’s pass was just a bit too high for the novice running back.
Kumper Younghoe Koo did make a field goal from 20 yards out that gave the Falcons three points.
After Atlanta gave up a touchdown on their next drive, Ridder made up for it with a 36-yard touchdown throw to Kyle Pitts that tied the game at 10.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Falcons of Georgia on Sunday, tying them with the New York Jets for first place in the NFC South.
Zach Wilson led a New York Jets to a strong win over the Houston Texans, and the Baltimore Ravens held on for the win in overtime.
Jake Browning (right hand) and C.J. Stroud had to leave their games because they were hurt. Not only did the Denver Broncos beat the Los Angeles Chargers, but the Buffalo Bills also beat the Kansas City Chiefs in a big way.
With a win in the Seattle Seahawks, the San Francisco 49ers kept rolling in the late window. Meanwhile, the Minnesota Vikings beat the Las Vegas Raiders in a pitchers’ fight to improve their chances of making the playoffs.
For the last football game of the day, the Dallas Cowboys trounced the Eagles of Philadelphia by 20 points during a shockingly easy “Sunday Night Football” game.
Desmond Ridder, the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, has been riding thin lately. His play in the first half toward the Tampa Bay Buccaneers within Week 14 did not help his reputation with fans or experts.
The Falcons were behind 3-0 in the first quarter, but they moved the ball down the field and had a chance to take the lead.
However, Ridder missed the right moment on a third-and-goal pass to Bijan Robinson, who was wide open, so Atlanta had to settle for a field goal.
The Falcons’ defense swiftly stopped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and gave the ball back to Ridder. However, Buccaneers safety Carlton Davis III picked off the quarterback’s bad-timed pass, giving the visitors a first-and-goal situation.
It was a good play by the Buccaneers, who scored a touchdown to go ahead 10–3. Ridder didn’t feel the pressure as well as was sacked in the end zone of the Falcons, which led to a safety late within the second quarter.
With a chance to get the win the Tampa Bay Buccaneers had to have, Mayfield looked somewhere else. Mayfield said, “We knew they were going to give Mike and Chris away down there in the red zone.” “So Cade just had a one-on-one.”
Cade Otton caught an 11-yard td pass alongside 31 seconds left to give the Buccaneers a 29-25 win over the Atlanta Falcons upon Sunday. It was the end of a crazy fourth quarter that tied them for first place in the NFC South.
The Falcons (6-7) scored two touchdowns in the last quarter to take a 25-22 lead. They had a chance to go on their first three-game sweep since 2019 and, more importantly, take a big step toward making the playoffs for the first time in six years.
Two mistakes in the first half hurt the team, but Desmond Ridder got past Joe Tryon-Shoyinka and scored on a 6-yard plunge with 3:23 left. The Falcons had a field-goal lead after a pass to Drake London for the extra point.
Even though Mayfield only made 14 out of 29 passes for 144 yards that day, it wasn’t enough. There is now a tie at the top of the division. The New Orleans Saints are also in the mix with a 6-7 record after beating Carolina.
Rachaad White ran for two yards on fourth-and-1, and Mayfield connected with Chris Godwin for a 32-yard pass on third-and-10 at the Atlanta 15. This was part of a 12-play, 75-yard drive by the Buccaneers.
It only took two plays for Mayfield to throw a touchdown to Otton, giving the game to Atlanta. In the two previous games, Atlanta’s defense had not given up a score.
When the Falcons had one last chance at the Tampa Bay 31, Drake London caught Ridder’s pass into the middle but was stopped three yards short of the end zone.
