MADRID, 30 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The French rider Julien Epaillard, riding Donatello d’Auge, was the winner of the Trofeu Ciutat de Barcelona by completing an impressive second round, while the best Spaniard was Mariano Martínez Bastida, ninth.

The Frenchman was the fastest of the nine riders who finished the first race without penalty and gained access to the second race. Behind Epaillard, his compatriot Simon Delestre (Dexter Fontenis Z) has qualified, one second slower, while third place has gone to the number one in the world ranking, the Swede Henrik von Eckermann, with Glamor Girl.

The best Spaniard in the test was Mariano Martínez Bastida who, riding Jup, managed to advance to the second race and finished in ninth position.

The new equestrian grandstand of the Real Club de Polo has presented its best appearance to host a spectacular event, which coincided with the traditional gala dinner in the stands of the Barcelona club. The second day of CSIO Barcelona closed with a tribute concert to ABBA on the RC Polo Olympic track.

During the break between the two rounds, the Joaquín Calvo Memorial Trophy was presented. In its fourth edition, the recognition went to Marco Fusté, who died last year, a member of RC Polo and head of the national jumping team for many years.
