MADRID, 12 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Bulgarian power forward Alexander Vezenkov, of the Greek Olympiacos, has been proclaimed the winner of the Alphonso Ford trophy, which is awarded to the top scorer in the Euroleague 2022-2023, after averaging 17.24 points in the 38 games played.

Vezenkov, one of the players who surely chooses the ‘MVP’ award, has surpassed in this recognition the American point guard Wade Baldwin IV, from the Israeli Maccabi Tel-Aviv, who finished with 17.17 points, and the American guard Will Clyburn, of the Turkish Anadolu Efes, who finished with 16.7.

As indicated by the competition, the former Barça player scored at least 20 points in 15 of his 33 Regular Season games, with the 28 he signed against German ALBA Berlin on matchday 24 his best game in this statistical section.

Vezenkov takes over from Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (Efes) and is the second player to win this trophy, which bears the name of one of the competition’s great scorers who died of leukemia in 2004, after the Lithuanian Linas Kleiza (2009 -2010).
