Numerous well-known faces have moved this Wednesday to the Almonte funeral home (Huelva) to watch over the mortal remains of Cristo Báñez. The flamenco designer, who died at the age of 41 at his home, was one more in the Andalusian ‘jet-set’, who does not believe the sad news. Eva Gonzalezone of her best friends, has been one of the first to arrive and has starred in a heartbreaking image when she burst into tears at the doors of the funeral home.
Cast away in tears too Vicky Martin Berrocalanother of Christ’s great friends, who has fired him on social networks with a heartfelt message: “Today is not an easy day for all of us who love you and there are many of us. I will never forget you. Thank you and thank you a thousand times for everything, friend. You take a little piece of me, of my great follies and my great secrets. Fly high. We will miss you very much. I love you always and forever”.
Maria Jose Suarezcompletely dressed in black, has also sent him a nice farewell message: “I have no words to express what I feel. I love you very much, friend. Rest in peace.”
The designer, who knew since he was a child that he wanted to dedicate himself to the world of fashion (his mother was a seamstress and instilled in him a love of pattern making and flamenco designs) achieved national popularity in 2016, when he became one of the protagonists of the Telecinco program Want to be, presented by Sara Carbonero. She served as a jury together with the influencers Madame de Rosa and sweetnesswho from then on became two of his great friends: “I hug you infinite. I love you and I will always love you. Rest, friend. I’m still in shock.”
The 41-year-old from Huelva was one of the most influential flamenco fashion creators and one of the designers who year after year presented his designs at SIMOF (International Flamenco Fashion Show).
