MADRID, 16 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The coach of Real Sociedad, Imanol Alguacil, was satisfied this Thursday with the “great match” of his team, despite the elimination in the round of 16 of the Europa League against Roma, at the same time that he highlighted the game of the his and congratulated the rival for the pass to the quarterfinals.
“I think it was a great game. The opponent was very tough, but I think we’ve been at the level. The chances have come in the second but it’s been because of everything we’ve demanded in the first. I can’t ask for more, I would have liked going through how the fans were”, said the coach in statements to Movistar Plus, collected by Europa Press.
The coach valued the lack of success of his team, although he highlighted his “great tie”. “It’s a shame, especially because of the clear chances we’ve had. It doesn’t matter if the goal had been on 80′ because it would have allowed us to dream. A shame for the team’s effort. It was a great tie but in front was the Roma de Mourinho and I have to congratulate them. We have been close, because they have hardly generated anything for us,” he said.
Finally, the Basque coach explained the reason for his changes and why he made them so late. “I haven’t made changes before because I understood that we were playing well. When I brought Take Kubo in I insisted with the rhombus in midfield, but then I changed with Cho to find more solutions and get more people into the area”, he concluded .
