Spain will play against Italy in the ‘FIBA window’ in February at the Multiusos de Cáceres

MADRID, 1 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cáceres Multipurpose Pavilion will be the scene of the matches of the Spanish men’s basketball team in the last qualifying ‘window’ for the 2023 World Cup, as confirmed this Thursday by the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB).

The current European and world champion, already classified for the defense of her title, will play on February 26 at the Cáceres venue against Italy, who also has her World Cup ticket, three days after having to visit Iceland.

In this way, the team led by Sergio Scariolo will return almost 15 years later to play at the Multiusos de Cáceres, where their last time was in a friendly against Russia in the preparation tour for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Before, Spain had played another friendly against Argentina in 1974, so the duel against Italy will be the first time they play an official match in Extremadura. Tickets will go on sale on December 15.
