Athletic Club player Yuri Berchiche suffers a sprain in the external lateral ligament of his right ankle, after ending up injured in the first friendly match of the preseason against Bochum, according to a statement from the rojiblanco team issued this Saturday.
The winger ended up limping and with a bandage on his right ankle in the match against the German team -which ended with the victory of the Basques (4-1)-, in a duel in which the also ‘lion’ Peru Nolaskoain suffered a head injury , with a blunt-cut wound on his left eyebrow.
The club reported that both players are “pending developments.” Athletic will play this Saturday (5:00 p.m.) the last test of their ‘stage’ in Germany against Mainz 05 at the Mewa Arena.
