Karim Benzema shone against Athletic and before the Movistar microphones he wanted to emphasize that Real Madrid knew how to suffer like a great team to leave San Mamés endorsed in the leadership.

“I like this football, a stadium like this makes me very happy but more happy and proud for today’s victory. Succeeding here is good,” the French forward, who scored a double, began commenting.

Madrid knew how to resist the push of the lions to take the three points. “Great game? I think so, it was a good game of ours against a very good rival, we conceded one goal but we scored two. We suffered and that’s what great teams have.”

Regarding his first goal, an unappealable right hand, Benzema limited himself to saying that “it is a very good goal”, but that it was “important because we are going with more confidence to score the second”.
