Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova have always been considered to be bitter enemies – both on the field and off the field. It was a 19 – 2 ahead of the Monday’s US Open match. The history did repeat itself, and Sharapova lost to Williams in straight sets 6-2, 6-1.
However, there was yet another winner on that day at the stadium. It was none other than Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian. He was found cheering Serena throughout the one hour match.
Well, that wasn’t something we are talking about here. It was the T-Shirt that he was wearing. It was reading D.A.R.E. It wasn’t a regular Dare thingy, but he was perhaps taking a shot at Maria Sharapova.
Still confused? Well, DARE stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. It was a popular program in the 1980s and 1990s.

It was a program for preventing the children to drugs. It may be important to notice that Maria Sharapova was suspended after she was tested for the consumption of a banned substance during the Australian Open.
How do we rate today’s action?

Maybe there are reasons for why Alexis Ohanian took that call. The failed drug test and another incident where Sharapova considered Serena Williams her rival. This is exactly what should explain the dig that he took at Sharapova. Williams now holds a record of 20 -2 against Maria Sharapova and that should speak in itself.
