MADRID, 22 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Slovenian point guard Ziga Samar, 21, who was one of the revelations of the last Endesa League with Basketball Fuenlabrada, is transferred to the German Alba Berlin, who will pay an economic amount for the player to play in the Euroleague next season.

“After three seasons belonging to Basketball Fuenlabrada and the last two playing in the Endesa League with our team, Ziga Samar leaves for Germany. Our club has sealed an agreement with Alba Berlin for the transfer of the Slovenian point guard,” reads the statement from the Fuenlabrada team.

In addition, they wanted to thank Samar “for his work and camaraderie on and off the track over these three years.” “With his work ethic and skills, we are sure he has many successes ahead of him,” said the Madrid team.

Ziga Samar arrived at the team from Fuenlabrada in the summer of 2019, where he signed from the lower categories of Real Madrid. The first year he played on loan at LEB Plata’s Zamora, and the last two in the first team of Basketball Fuenlabrada in the Endesa League. His averages and importance have been growing year after year, averaging 7.6 points per game and exceeding 10 PIR points per game. In addition, he is an international with the Slovenian national team, with which he has been called up for the Eurobasket.
