Zaragoza make a last-minute comeback in Cartagena to take the lead in LaLiga Hypermotion

MADRID, 26 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Zaragoza took the lead in LaLiga Hypermotion 2024-2025 after beating Cartagena FC 1-2 on Monday, a match they were losing in the 82nd minute and won in the 97th, while Burgos were unable to add their second victory also due to a late goal that meant their draw away to Córdoba (2-2), in the matches that closed the second day of the championship on Monday.

The Aragonese team arrived at the Cartagonova Stadium facing their second consecutive away game after beating (0-4) a promotion candidate like Cádiz CF, but this time they encountered many difficulties, especially in the first half where the locals were better.

However, the good work of the Cartagena team was only rewarded with a goal from Cedric after fifteen minutes of play, and that would not be enough after the improvement of Víctor Fernández’s team after the break. Zaragoza had many chances to equalise, but did not manage to do so until the 82nd minute, through Pau Sans, and in the end they ended up taking the three points to remain in the lead in the 97th minute with a goal from Francho.

Zaragoza leads the table with six points, tied with SD Huesca and Albacete Balompié, but this trio could not be joined by Burgos, who lost all three points in the 98th minute of their visit to the Nuevo Arcángel Stadium in Córdoba.

The expulsion of Adrián Ruiz in the 73rd minute ended up conditioning the Cordoba team that until then had been leading the scoreboard after Antonio Casas’ goal at the start of the second half. The Burgos team took advantage of their superiority to come back with goals from Curro and Alex between the 76th and 80th minutes, and when they were already tasting the three points, they saw Ander Yoldi snatch them away in the 98th minute.
