Yuri, the 'eternal' scorer who leads Ponferradina

Yuri continues to break records every season after opening the victory against Girona that allows Deportiva to position itself as the second leader alone after three days. The Brazilian striker from Ponferradina scored his second goal of this season on Saturday (the first meant victory against Alcorcón on the opening day) and number 95 of his private account in the Second Division, which makes him the top foreign scorer in the category, beating the legendary Dani Aquino (94).

The blue and white captain is ranked 18th on a list headed by another ‘immortal’ of Spanish football, Nino, who has 194 goals in the Second Division. Yuri can continue to gain places in this classification, since he is one goal from Toché, two from Mendi and five from Salillas, to name his more immediate predecessors.

The Deportiva forward continues thus adding milestones in his career, after becoming the club's top scorer in history last year. What's more, He is the third player who has worn the blue and white jersey the most times, with 406 appearances, and this season he can beat the second, Marcos Tyrone, who played 430 games with Ponferradina. Eduardo continues to top the list with 452.

With 39 years just turned and 12 seasons in Ponferrada, with an adventure in China in between, Yuri continues to be the benchmark of the Berciano team and one of the players who give luster to the category.
