Youth player Mario Saint-Supéry signs his first professional contract with Unicaja

MADRID, 23 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish guard Mario Saint-Supéry Fernández has signed this Wednesday with Unicaja the first professional contract of his sports career and has thus begun a new stage in his growth as a player, fully integrating himself into the Malaga first team.

This was announced by Unicaja itself, noting that Saint-Supéry “will acquire a greater role”. “His quota status will allow him to regularly play minutes in the Basketball Champions League and take advantage of the opportunities that arise in the Endesa League and the rest of the competitions that the team plays, such as the Super Cup next September or the Copa del Rey in Malaga 2024”, the press release specified.

Saint-Supéry is 17 years old and has a long curriculum in training basketball. This summer he has won the silver medal with Spain in the European under-18, repeating successes from last year, when he was runner-up in the European under-16 and was nominated as MVP of the tournament. At Unicaja he has been champion of Andalusia in all three categories (infantile, cadet and junior) and runner-up in Spain cadet last season.

“He is the youngest player to have debuted with the first team in the club’s history, when he was 15 years, 11 months and 2 days old. Also last year he was the Copa del Rey champion with the first team. Now he has a beautiful road ahead to continue growing as a player and establish himself in professional basketball at Unicaja”, the Malaga entity concluded in its note.
