Xavi does not travel with Barça to the United States because of the passport

BARCELONA, 16 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

FC Barcelona took off this Saturday for Miami, the first of the four US stops on the Barça preseason tour, with the main absence of Xavi Hernández for “administrative” and “passport” reasons, as reported by the club.

In this way, it is expected that the coach, who begins his first full season at the helm of the team, can travel in the coming days and join before the second preseason test against Inter Miami CF, a US Major League Soccer club.

The tour in the United States will begin next Wednesday against the club of former player David Beckkam, owner of Inter Miami. Afterwards, the ‘culé’ side will play the ‘Clásico’ in Las Vegas against Real Madrid.

Barça will also pass through Dallas to face Juventus Turin and will finish in New York against the NY Red Bulls on July 31, days before the last pre-season friendly for the Joan Gamper Trophy against Mexican Pumas.

In the expedition that has traveled with the 28 players summoned, among them Frenkie de Jong, are the president Joan Laporta, the vice-presidents Rafa Yuste, Elena Fort, Antonio Escudero and Juli Guiu, the secretary Josep Cubells and the directors Miquel Camps, Josep Ignasi Macià, Xavier Puig, Ángel Riudalbas, Joan Solé and Joan Soler.
