The former midfielder of FC Barcelona and current technician of the Al saad Qatari Xavi Hernandez, won this Thursday the award for best coach of the 2020-2021 season of the first division of Qatar, while the former Villarreal
Santi Cazorla, who plays under the command of the Spaniard, was crowned the best player.
At this awards gala, which could not be present due to covid-19, the Qatar Football Association announced through Twitter last season's laureates in the Qatari first division, the QNB Stars League.
The Spanish coach of Al saad, Xavi Hernandez, was recognized as the best coach of the season “for his good performance and for having won the league title,” according to the Association.
“This confirms that he is the best current coach in Qatari stadiums,” the note said.
On the other hand, Santi Cazorla, won the title of the best player in the league championship this season and was recognized by the highest organ of Qatari football as “a great addition to Al Saad.”
The former Villarreal and Arsenal player competed for the title with Al Duhail's Edmilson Junior and his teammate, Algerian center forward Baghdad Bounedjah.
