WTA | Sabalenka triumphs in the first Belarusian WTA final

Aryna Sabalenka beat former world number one Victoria Azarenka, 6-2 and 6-2 in the final of the Ostrava tournament, the first to have recorded a Belarusian title match.

Sabalenka, executioner of the Spanish Sara Sorribes, whom he raised 6-0 and 4-0 to win later in three sets, and the American Jennifer Brady, 6-4 and 6-4, had a quiet final and beat Azarenka in just 64 minutes

It meant the seventh title of Sabalenka, 22 years old, against the veteran and experienced Azarenka, 31, who had played 40 finals before. Shortly after becoming the singles champion, Aryna also won the doubles title alongside Elise Mertens of Belgium against her compatriot, Flipkens, and Schuurs of the Netherlands (6-3, 7-5).
