MADRID, 5 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Dutch player Georginio Wijnaldum has become a new AS Roma footballer this Friday after the agreement reached with Paris Saint-Germain, his club of origin, after materializing a loan –for a season– with the option to buy the next summer.
The 31-year-old international midfielder “arrives at the ‘giallorossi’ on a temporary basis from Paris Saint-Germain. The agreement provides the option of a permanent transfer at the end of the 2022-23 season,” reports Roma.
Wijnaldum, with a past at Liverpool, Feyenoord, and PSV Einhoven, among other clubs, was very excited about his arrival at the Italian club, where he will report to José Mourinho. “It’s really exciting to be a Roma player. All the people I spoke to gave me excellent feelings about the club and the fans,” he said in his first words as a Roma player.
“The club has shown how much it loved me through the effort made to close the deal positively, as has been shown by all the fans who have shown me their love on social media in recent days. That always gives a lot of confidence to a player”, added Wijnaldum, who will wear number 25.
