Who was Caritina Goyanes, the daughter of Cari Lapique who died at the age of 46?

Another blow for the Goyanes-Lapique family. Carlos’s death at the age of 79 in his home in Marbella was followed by the death of his daughter Caritina at the age of 46, after suffering a heart attack. Caritina, mother of Pedro, 13, and Minicari, 10, a businesswoman and entrepreneur, launched her own catering company, Sixsens. As stated on her Instagram profile, “Mother of Pedrito and Mini Cari, crazy about Matos and happy with Sixsens.” Passionate about her family and her work, she was completely devoted to her children. She married Antonio in 2006 in a highly publicised wedding in Ibiza, which was attended by, among others, Ana Rosa Quintana, as she herself sadly recalled on her programme when she heard the sad news. The marriage suffered a crisis and during that time her husband had a son with another woman.

Who is Caritina? The eldest daughter of businessman Carlos Goyanes and Cari Lapique, she was born in 1977. Seven years later, her sister Carla was born in 1983. Married to Antonio Matos and a lover of good cooking, she was successful with her catering company.

Meanwhile, her sister Carla made the leap into the world of fashion and gossip magazines through a brief romance with bullfighter Fran Rivera. Carla, who studied Business Administration and Management, succeeded her father at the head of the family business, Agencias A Promociones Inmobiliarias, and is married to Jorge Benguría, the father of her three children, Carlos, Santi and Beltrán.

Carla and Caritina are the fruit of the businessman’s second marriage, who when he died was enjoying his golden retirement with his wife, Cari, whom he married 49 years ago. They would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 2025. Carlos adored his two daughters and his five grandchildren, to whom he felt devotion.

Caritina, granddaughter of the counts of Villamirandala

It was September 20, 1975 when Carlos Goyanes said “I do” to one of the great ladies of high society at the time, Cari Lapique, daughter of the Counts of Villamirandala. It was in the parish of the Virgen Madre de Marbella in front of 600 guests among whom were Carmen Franco, Lola Flores with her daughter Lolita and Pitita Ridruejo, among others.

Carlos married Marisol for the first time, the child prodigy of the time who was discovered by Goyanes’ own father. It was on May 16, 1969, in front of more than 4,000 people. Later, she confessed that she was not in love that day, as well as the abuse and isolation she suffered under the ‘protection’ of the Goyanes family from her earliest childhood: “I did not associate with other people other than those who let me into that house.”
