When Alabama needs to hire a new head coach, they have a clear choice.

Taking over for Nick Saban proved to be impossible. No one will ever do what he did on the football field again.

A long list of accomplishments and awards that are hard to imagine starts with six national wins, nine SEC Championships, and four Heisman Trophy winners.

It was never going to be easy for Saban to step down, but maybe now, after winning the SEC title and making the Rose Bowl, it wasn’t the worst time.

From Saban’s point of view, working 14-hour days is hard for everyone, but especially for someone 72 years old.

Even more so now that the NIL, trade site and social media are around, he has done a great job of adjusting. But I still think he has a bright future in the media.

I think it’s more likely compared to not that he will end up hosting a show like College GameDay on ESPN.

It hurts to leave now, but if he did leave after the 2024 season, he would leave with Milroe and other important players, which would make things hard for the person who takes over.

No matter who gets hired next, they will have the chance to take over a team that is a threat to win the national title.

To keep the present team together, the next coach will have to do a lot of wooing, but having Saban as an adviser will help a lot.

I think Greg Byrne has identified the right person to be the coach. Even though Byrne loved and thanked Saban a lot, he knew that life would go on after Saban died.

Byrne has hired some great people, like Nate Oats, therefore I would be shocked if he missed the chance to hire the best coach the sport has seen in 17 years.

Fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide have had a crazy day. For the very first period in 17 years, a new head coach was introduced.

Greg Byrne, the athletic director, gave himself 72 hours to hire someone and finish his job. He chose Washington Huskies quarterback Kalen Deboer in just 48 hours.

DeBoer has a 104-12 record as a head coach and was in the national championship game not long ago.

He is very good at being a wide receiver, which should make Isaiah Bond as well as Ryan Williams interested in him again.

In the past few years, DeBoer has been in charge of some of the best teams in college football. The most important thing for him will be to keep the guys on the Alabama team.

DeBoer helped quarterback Michael Penix become a Heisman Trophy candidate and a first-round draft pick, so there is a lot of hope for what he can do with Milroe.

I think DeBoer possesses certain really great traits, but no one really knows where players’ minds are at or if they want to move.

QB Jalen Milroe shouted “Roll Tide” and “I’m staying” to Alabama fans as he walked into Mal Moore’s practice facilities before the Tide’s first meeting.

This makes it look like he plans to stay. Even though things can change, the fact that most of the guys want to stay is a good sign.

This past season, Kalen DeBoer led Washington to a Pac-12 title and an appearance in the College Football Playoff’s National Championship game. On Friday night, Alabama revealed that DeBoer would be their new head coach.

Nick Saban, who was at Alabama for 17 years and led the teams to nine SEC wins and six national championships, is leaving the school.

DeBoer, 49, will take over one of the most prized and hardest jobs in college football. Saban quit on Wednesday. He had a 206–29 record as a coach at Alabama.

“I have always had a lot of regard for Alabama football and its dedication to being the best,” DeBoer said in a school statement.

He set the bar for university football, and no one has ever been as successful as he is. I wouldn’t have left Washington over any school.

“There is no other college sports program with as many traditions as this one, and I’m excited to keep that going in the years to come.” It is an honor to follow Coach Saban.

The chance to be in charge of the football team at The University of Alabama comes once in a lifetime. We’re so grateful to be able to move to Tuscaloosa with our family. We’re excited to live there.
