What requirements must the candidates for the presidency of Real Madrid meet?

The Real Madrid it has opened the electoral process for the presidential elections. Florentino Pérez is going to run for reelection and may have rivals, although those who want to run will have to meet tough requirements.

Tough requirements approved in 2012 by the Assembly of Commissioner Members, conditions that have been widely criticized and even brought to trial, but the courts have agreed with Florentino Pérez.

Those requirements that must be met by anyone who wants to run for the presidency of Real Madrid are:

1. Be Spanish.

2. Be of legal age and with full capacity to act.

3. Be up-to-date in the fulfillment of social duties. Be a member of the Club with at least twenty years of uninterrupted seniority -19- in the case of the President, fifteen years in the case of the Vice-Presidents and ten years in the other cases.

4. Not be subject to a sanction that disables him from holding management positions.

5. Not hold a managerial position in other Soccer Clubs, nor be active as a Player, Referee, Coach or Technician of the same at the time of proclamation as a candidate.

6. Provide, in due course, a bank guarantee under the terms, conditions and amount established by Law 10/1990 and other applicable provisions and in accordance with the requirements set forth in numbers 3 and 4 of section C of this article.
