Vodafone will offer all LaLiga SmartBank matches for next season

MADRID, 8 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The company Vodafone Spain announced this Monday that new and current customers who contract or have contracted the Vodafone TV Sports Pack will be able to watch all the matches of the 2022-2023 LaLiga SmartBank season, according to a statement.

As of August 12, the day of the first match of the new season in LaLiga SmartBank, channels 330, 331 and 332 of the Vodafone TV decoder will broadcast all the matches of the competition at no additional cost when contracting the Sports Pack. This also includes all cycling, tennis and motor competitions on Eurosport Player; the sports news of the teams of Sevilla, FC Barcelona, among others; plus skateboarding, surfing, and other adventure sports on the Surf Channel or Extreme Sports.

“With the addition of LaLiga SmartBank to the content available on its television platform, Vodafone continues to strengthen its regional and local strategy by offering its customers the chance to enjoy some of the most traditional teams in Spanish football”, highlighted the company in the statement.

LaLiga sources assured that the employer’s association celebrates this new news, which allows “full time” for the broadcast of the competition. “It was already a success to distribute LaLiga SmartBank through Movistar, Orange, Telecable, Amazon Prime Video, Euskaltel, R, Virgin Telco, MásMóvil, Yoigo and Guuk. But now, with the incorporation of Vodafone, the success is enormous”, they applauded .

The accession of Vodafone means, according to LaLiga, completing “a brilliant job” by the employers “in the management of the audiovisual rights of the clubs in the new cycle that begins in 2022-2023.” “This work takes on special relevance in the current context where most of the major European leagues have seen their audiovisual income reduced in recent years,” he stressed.

A week ago, LaLiga referred to the new non-exclusive marketing format for Second Division television rights as the main reason for “achieving the goal of achieving wider distribution to reach more fans by improving the reach and exposure of the competition”.

“This proposal facilitates access to the emotion of LaLiga SmartBank while guaranteeing the achievement of the economic objectives proposed by LaLiga and may even increase the value of the rights in this category,” said the employers’ association, chaired by Javier Tebas.
