BARCELONA, 5 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The health group Vithas has signed a sponsorship agreement with the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Conde de Godó Trophy, which in its 71st edition will be held from April 13 to 21 of this year, in an alliance with a long-term vision.
Vithas frames this agreement in its defense of the values it shares with the world of sports: healthy lifestyle habits, teamwork and the spirit of improvement.
“These are values that form an integral part of our healthcare relationship with patients, and the daily performance of our more than 12,600 doctors, nurses and professionals,” explained its president, Jorge Gallardo Piqué.
“The alliance has the spirit and long-term vision that characterize the projects that Vithas undertakes, it is part of the strategic commitment to Barcelona,” said the healthcare group.
Vithas is currently investing more than 100 million euros in the construction of a new hospital in Esplugues de Llobregat with a total area of 40,000 m2 and in which more than 1,800 professionals will care for the health of Barcelona residents.
Gallardo Piqué said he was satisfied with the start of Vithas' collaboration with the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, a leading sporting and social event in the city. “It is one of the essential annual events both for the international tennis circuit and for Barcelona and Catalan society,” he acknowledged.
For his part, the CEO of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, Xavier Pujol, expressed his gratitude to Vithas, especially its president Jorge Gallardo, for their “decided commitment” to the tournament. “With Vithas we share both its values and its strategic vision of a company with roots in Barcelona and a vocation for national and international growth,” he said.
The Vithas group today has 20 hospitals and 37 medical centers in 14 provinces and is increasing its presence in Catalonia through the construction of a new 40,000 m2 hospital in Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona), which is added to the hospital and the two medical centers that It already has in Lleida, as well as its medical center in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona).
In its first year of presence at the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Conde de Godó Trophy, the group will focus on the presentation in society of its strategic commitment to Catalonia and its arrival in Barcelona, the city of origin of its sole shareholder, Goodgrower, belonging to the Gallardo Family Group, which supports the largest healthcare group with local capital, to which the Almirall pharmaceutical laboratories based in Barcelona also belong.
